Peer to Peer Installation Guide for XRT-711

The installation Steps:

1. Execute the SETUP program. After the SETUP program start, the Wizard will guide you for the installation steps.

2. The Wizard will ask for the install path, in default, it will installed to "Windows Drive\Program Files\PRTSERV".

3. The Wizard ask for the Protocol desired. Since your XRT-711 only support TCP/IP protocol, please click on it and click on Next.

4. Then, it ask for if you would like to install Set BOX program as below:

Due to the TCP/IP interface can be set by Web Interface, please just click on "Next".

5. Note for Windows 2000 Users, as soon the install progress in 95%, please click on "ALT" + "TAB" to switch the screen from below to point 6 (That is, press and hold "Alt" key then one press "Tab" key. Release both).

6. After the installation progress goes to 95%, the pop-up screen will appeared as below:

The information you need to know:

Device Name The Device name or IP address of your XRT-711.

You can direct key in the IP address of the XRT-711. Or, you can click on "Browse". The driver will search for the available printer port in this network domain.

Port Name The port name of this printer port.
This can be used to identify your network printer in the later printer installation.

In default, it will looks like "SCxxxxxx_Pn" where SCxxxxxx stands for the back panel serial number of the device, Pn shows parallel number. For XRT-711, it will be P1.(i.e. SCxxxxxx_P1)

You can change the name to a meaningful one, like ACCT_HPLJ6L, for example for Accounting deptartment's Laser Jet 6L.

7.  After the Installation, you can now add a new printer and use the port as followings:

As you can see in the example, we use the "SC120610_P1",  as the printer port. Then, close, the printer on the XRT-711 now is ready to use.
