User's Manual
Once configured, operation is completely automatic. Simply use your Browser, FTP
client, or other Internet client to connect to the desired Internet site.
To access AOL (America On Line) through the Internet Access Server, the AOL for Windows software must be configured to use TCP/IP network access, rather than a dial-up connection. The configuration process is as follows:
The Status screen can be reached via the hyperlink on the navigation bar. An example screen is shown below.
Device | |
Firmware Version | Version of the firmware (embedded software, including this program) which is currently installed. |
Hardware ID | The hardware ID of this device, used by the manufacturer. |
Network Address Translation | This will display "Enabled" or "Disabled". This setting is on the Device - Options screen. If "Disabled", the Firewall protection provided by this device is also disabled, and PCs can only access the Internet if they have a valid External IP Address. |
E-Mail Sharing | If E-mail sharing is used on any E-mail account, this will display "ON". Otherwise, the status will be "OFF". |
LAN Port | |
Physical Address | The "Hardware" address of this device, as seen by other devices on the Internal LAN. This is equivalent to the "Network Adapter Address" on a PC. |
IP Address | The IP Address of this device, as seen by other devices on the Internal LAN. |
Network Mask | The Network Mask for the IP Address above. |
DHCP Server | This shows the status of the DHCP Server function. The value will be "Enabled" or "Disabled". |
WAN Port | |
Physical Address | The "Hardware" address of this device, as seen by other devices on the external LAN or WAN. This is equivalent to the "Network Adapter Address" on a PC. |
IP Address | The IP Address of this device, as seen by other devices on the External LAN or WAN. |
Network Mask | The Network Mask for the above IP Address. |
Default Gateway | IP address of the Router/Gateway on the External LAN or WAN. |
DHCP Client | Displays "Enabled" or "Disabled", indicating whether this device is acting as a DHCP client on the external LAN or WAN. |
